Charlotte and George Miller are twin 10-year olds living in Hillsborough, North Carolina, in 1775. Their father, Mr. Miller, owns a gristmill just outside of town, and their mother works in their home. George and Charlotte have a brother Samuel who is 7 years old, and a sister Polly, who is 3. The Miller twins and their family live in a time when Hillsborough is seeing many changes and activity. There is increasing distrust of King George's government in the colony, with the Regulator Rebellion and the Battle of Alamance in 1771, and now adults are taking about a Revolution...
