June 17-August 30, 2008 Digging History: Archaeology in Hillsborough
A special exhibit on archaeology and archaeological expeditions here in Hillsborough. Learn what archaeology is, see the tools of the trades, view finds unearthed locally, and how to practice good archaeology at home. Interactive "dig" for junior archaeologists! Free.

July 25, 2008 Last Friday – This Week in History
6-9 p.m. What happened this week in the past? Find out from the historic figures themselves! Members of the Orange Community Players will act out events from Julys past. Pianist Paul Brown will provide the evening’s music. Free.

August 29, 2008 Last Friday – Ears to You!
6-9 p.m. Listen to the harmonic sounds of Heart of Carolina Barbershop Harmony Chorus while enjoying a corn dog or roasted ear. This celebration of the harvest reminds us of the importance of agriculture in Orange County’s past and present. Free.

September 7, 2008 Wine Tour Fundraiser
Time TBD. A tour of three private homes with a tasting of several wines at each home. More information available after August 1.

September 9, 2008 Orient Express Fundraiser
Time TBD. A discussion of Oriental Carpets, in conjunction with the Chapel Hill Museum. At Leland Little Auctions, 246 S. Nash St. Hillsborough. More information available after August 15.

September 13, 2008 Colonial Kids Day
Time TBD. This is the third annual Colonial Kids event (previously Felicity Day). Please check back after July 1 for more information about this event.

September 26, 2008 Last Friday-Back to School…Way Back
6-9 p.m. Readin’, ritin’, and rithmatic, taught to the tune of a hickory stick. Join Schoolmaster Brown and the teacher’s pet for lessons from the 19th century schoolbook. Remember to bring an apple for the teacher! Music by Kevin Delaney. Free.

October 31, 2008 Halloween at the Museum
6-9 p.m. Dress up for our annual celebration of Halloween. Free.
