Support the Orange County Historical Museum

There are many ways to support the Orange County Historical Museum and its operating organization, the Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County.

Donate
The Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County is a not-for-profit organization and receives limited government support. The generous contributions of visitors, neighbors, and friends allows us to continue operating the Orange County Historical Museum, preserving artifacts, developing exhibits, educating students, and publishing materials on Orange County history.

Please consider making a monetary donation today. Donations of $25 or more are recognized on the “Honor Roll” at the museum. Donations of $100-$499 are recognized with a brass leaf on the “Donor Tree.” Donations of $500 or more are recognized with a copper leaf on the “Donor Tree.”

Donations can be made by check to the “Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County” and brought in or mailed to the museum. Donations can be made by credit card online through Paypal on our Homepage.

The Historical Foundation of Hillsborough and Orange County is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Become a Sponsor
Businesses, organizations, and foundations can sponsor new exhibits, special events, education programs, facilities renovation, or other special projects. Sponsorships begin at $500 and sponsors are recognized with their name on the “Honor Roll,” a copper leaf on the “Donor Tree,” mention in all related publicity, and special recognition in the project (type of listing depends on project). Volunteer
The energy of our volunteers is what keeps things moving at the museum. Volunteering at the Orange County Historical Museum is a great way to give back to your community and help the museum keep the memories of the past alive.

IT’S LOTS OF FUN!

The Museum is seeking enthusiastic people of all ages who appreciate Orange County history to volunteer their time at the museum. The Museum is currently looking for front desk volunteers to greet visitors, orient them to the museum and local area and share knowledge about Orange County history. The Museum is also looking for collections and research volunteers.

Become an Intern
The Orange County Historical Museum offers graduate students or college seniors internships in history, museum studies, and related fields. If you are interested in doing your internship with us, please call (919) 732-2201..

Attend a Fundraiser
The foundation holds a number of fundraising events throughout the year. These have included theatrical productions, musical productions, lunch and snack sales at local events, a wine tour, and an annual yard sale. Information on upcoming fundraising events can be found on the Events page of this website.

Visit the Gift Shop
Proceeds from sales in the museum gift shop and by mail benefit the programs of the foundation. Please visit the Shop page of this website for more information.

Become of A Friend of the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough
The foundation is a member of the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough, a not-for-profit umbrella organization. Becoming a friend of the Alliance provides funding to the foundation and other organizations in Hillsborough, as well as bringing benefits to the friend.
